Adobe wanted its new floor of office space in its Times Square location to reflect its energetic, vibrant surroundings, creating a space that reflected its values of seamlessness, inclusivity, and innovation.

The central inspiration behind the design scheme as a whole was the prism, which encompasses the full spectrum of colors and perfectly captures the ideas Adobe wanted to communicate: that there is space for every activity and every person, and that both the individual and the continuum are worth celebration.

The Campfire: This presentation space, known as the “Campfire,” features the NanoFleck luminaires behind the Arktura ceiling system, complete with a custom perforated design and acoustic backing. The NanoFleck was chosen specifically for being a pre-mounted and pre-wired, which make including factory provided cutaways for penetrations like speakers, sprinklers, and sensors an easy process. Allowing these elements to be easily incorporated means unforeseen requirements can be addressed in real time and reduce delays.

The ceiling installation with its custom pattern creates a warm and inviting but clearly delineated space within the larger room, even without the curtain.

The corridor: The corridor is also considered in these designs, serving as a connector between workspaces. The NanoFleck installation behind this Arktura perforated panel emulate dappled sunlight through leaves, and spark curiosity about what might be waiting through the doors, which open from the corridor into the bright and colorful workspaces.

To achieve uncommon pastel hues, this NanoFleck installation uses Pixel Control with an RGBW LED array. By adding white light to the RGB color spectrum, a variety of tints can be created that stand out against the neutral wood tones while maintaining a calmer atmosphere.

Creating the dappled effect on the walls was a unique challenge. A special narrow beam lens was used on the RGBW NanoFleck LEDs, and the ceiling panels lack a diffuser panel so that the beams are sure to strike the surrounding walls and create the effect. The result, a soft but directional light, is worth the effort.

Combined with the pastel LEDs, the corridor’s lighting design creates a tantalizing preview of the vibrant elements awaiting through the door.
